Recipe: Spicy Deviled Ham Sticks
This recipe is ideal for a snack or as a starter. It is an oven-baked recipe that will take you approximately 25-35 minutes, but it is simple to prepare.
Deviled ham is an ideal filling for sandwiches, arepas or pasta that was marketed thanks to William Underwood in the 19th century and became especially popular in Venezuela during the 20th century.
Picante Canario is a hot sauce or similar to a well-known American brand that aims not to be invasive towards the flavors of the product to which it is added.
Ingredients: Spicy deviled ham sticks
- 1 sheet of puff pastry.
- 1 jar of deviled ham.
- A few drops of Picante Canario, be careful not to overdo it!
- Provencal herbs.
- 1 beaten egg.
Preparation: Spicy deviled ham sticks
- Preheat the oven to 180º.
- Spread the puff pastry and spread the jar of deviled ham over the entire surface.
- Put the Picante Canario on top to taste.
- Fold the dough over itself and cut 1 cm thick strips, twist them around themselves by grabbing them by the ends (like a spiral) and place on the baking tray (previously lined).
- Paint with the egg and sprinkle the herbs.
- Finally, bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
